Anonymize contact (right to erasure)

An administrator anonymizes all personal data for a Contact in response to a GDPR Right to Erasure request. The Contact record is preserved with redacted values; related records (activities, tickets, opportunities) are preserved with anonymized references.

When this happens: Admin navigates to Contact — Actions — Anonymize (GDPR Erasure).

Step by step

  1. 1

Open the Contact detail page. Clicks Actions — Anonymize (GDPR Erasure).

Step 1 confirmation: This will permanently anonymize all personal data for [Contact Name]. This action is irreversible. Related records will be preserved with anonymized references.

  2. 2

    Click Continue.

Step 2 confirmation: Type the contact's email address to confirm: [email shown] — or, for a contact without an email, their full name as displayed ().

  3. 3

Types the contact's email address exactly.

EasyCRM checks match. Initiates background job. Anonymization process: — Contact: FirstName, LastName, Phone, Address, JobTitle, all PII custom fields — [REDACTED]. Email — redacted-{GUID}@anonymized.local. ConsentGiven — false. IsAnonymized — true. — Activities: Descriptions containing PII — [Content anonymized per GDPR request]. Email bodies — [Content anonymized per GDPR request]. — Tickets: Contact snapshot fields — [REDACTED]. Comment bodies with contact name/email — replaced with [REDACTED]. — Opportunities, Quotes, Invoices: Contact FK set to NULL; . — Audit log: EntityName entries referencing this Contact updated to [REDACTED]. — Channel identities: deleted. — Conversations: kept; previews and thread ids cleared. Messages of every kind, internal notes included: text — [Content anonymized per GDPR request]. — Message files and the Contact's Files-tab files: deleted from storage; a message's file shows as removed. — Stored channel webhook events of the Contact: deleted. EasyCRM removes Contact from all active drip sequences and campaign audiences. Stops email sync for the anonymized email address. EasyCRM notifies Admin: Anonymization complete for Contact ID [ID] — [N] records affected Audit log entry: GdprErasure with Contact ID and list of affected entity counts.
