Configure classification criteria for customers and conversations

An Admin defines a named classification dimension — for example "Customer Tier" — with a fixed option list, applied to Contacts, Conversations, or both, so operators and reports can group by it.

When this happens: Admin opens Admin — Conversation Settings — Classification — New Dimension.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open the Classification tab, clicks New Dimension.

EasyCRM shows the form: Name, Applies To (Contact / Conversation, either or both), Options.

  2. 2

Enter Name = *Customer Tier*, Applies To = Contact + Conversation, adds options Standard, Premium, VIP.

EasyCRM checks the name is unique and at least one option is given. EasyCRM creates the dimension and its options, active. EasyCRM records ClassificationDimensionCreated; the dimension appears immediately on the Contact form and the conversation detail panel.

Other paths

Deactivate an option

Deactivates Standard after retiring the tier. Existing records keep the value, labelled (inactive); it can no longer be newly assigned.

If something goes wrong

Delete an in-use option

Attempts to delete Premium while contacts or conversations carry it. Rejects, naming the count; offers deactivation instead.

Good to know

  • A dimension applies to Contact, Conversation, or both.
  • Values are stored on the classified record and validated against the live option set.
