Configure sales funnels
An Admin sets up several sales funnels, each with its own ordered stages, chooses the default funnel, maps channel connections to the funnel their opportunities should start in, and archives funnels that are no longer used.
When this happens: Admin opens Funnel administration.
Step by step
- 1
Open Funnel administration.
Lists the funnels: name, number of stages, open opportunities, default marker and channel defaults.
- 2
Click New funnel, enters Name Retail, and chooses Start from: default stages.
EasyCRM checks that the name is unused among active funnels and that the 20-funnel limit is not reached. EasyCRM creates the funnel with the default stages (Lead, Qualified, Proposal, Negotiation, Closed Won, Closed Lost).
- 3
Renames the stages to New inquiry, Offer sent, Awaiting payment, Paid (Won) and Lost (Lost), removes the fourth non-terminal stage, and sets probabilities and colors.
EasyCRM checks the stage rules for this funnel: 3 – 15 stages, at least one non-terminal, one Won and one Lost stage, and stage names unique within the funnel. EasyCRM saves and writes
FunnelCreatedandPipelineStageConfigured. - 4
Under *Default for channels*, selects the connection WhatsApp Retail.
EasyCRM saves the mapping and writes
FunnelChannelDefaultChanged. Broadcasts the change; Retail appears in the Kanban funnel switcher and the opportunity forms without a reload.
Other paths
Copy an existing funnel
If chooses Start from: copy of B2B Sales. EasyCRM creates the funnel with copies of that funnel's stages, probabilities and colors. No opportunity is copied. Flow continues at step 5.
Change the default funnel
Mark Retail as the default. Moves the default marker from the previous default. Writes FunnelDefaultChanged. New opportunities without another pre-selection now start in Retail.
Archive and restore a funnel
Archives a funnel that has no open opportunities. EasyCRM confirms and lists the channel mappings that will be removed. On confirmation, archives the funnel. It disappears from pickers and the Kanban switcher, and stays available in reports and under *Archived* in the list filter. Writes FunnelArchived. Later clicks Restore on the archived funnel. System reactivates it; channel mappings are not restored.
Channel already mapped to another funnel
If the connection is already the default of B2B Sales. EasyCRM shows: WhatsApp Retail currently feeds B2B Sales. Move it to Retail? Confirm. System moves the mapping; a connection maps to at most one funnel.
If something goes wrong
Archive a funnel with open opportunities
Rejects the archive: Retail has 14 open opportunities. Move them to another funnel first Offers Move opportunities, which opens the bulk move (UC-3.10 ) pre-filtered to them.
Archive the default funnel
Rejects: Choose another default funnel before archiving this one
Stage rules violated
If the funnel has no Lost stage. EasyCRM shows: A funnel needs at least one Won and one Lost stage Nothing is saved.
Delete a funnel that was used
The funnel has held an opportunity at some point. Delete is refused (This funnel has opportunity history. Archive it instead) and Archive is offered.
Limit or name conflict
The company already has 20 active funnels, or the name is taken. The funnel is not created and the reason is shown.
Good to know
- Every company has at least one active funnel and exactly one default funnel.
- The stage rules of FR-03-020 apply per funnel.
- A funnel with open opportunities cannot be archived; a funnel with any opportunity history cannot be deleted.
- A channel connection maps to at most one funnel.
