Connect a facebook page for messenger
The Owner connects a Facebook Page the company administers so customer Messenger conversations arrive in the shared Inbox.
When this happens: Owner opens Channel Administration — Connect Facebook Page.
Step by step
- 1
Open
/admin/channelsand clicks Connect Facebook Page.EasyCRM takes you to Facebook's authorization screen with PKCE and the permissions
pages_show_list,pages_manage_metadata,pages_messaging. It also askspages_read_user_contentfor the Social CRM's listening andleads_retrieval,pages_manage_adsandads_managementfor its lead ads, andpages_manage_engagementfor its replies to and comments on the Page's comments, andpages_manage_postsandread_insightsfor publishing to the Page and reading its posts' numbers (UC-13.8, UC-13.9). - 2
Signs in to Facebook and grants consent.
EasyCRM shows the Pages the Owner administers.
- 3
Select *Acme Home & Garden*.
EasyCRM creates the
ChannelConnectionwithExternalAccountId= the Page id,DisplayIdentifier= the Page's name. Subscribes the Page to themessageswebhook field and shows Connected: Acme Home & Garden It also subscribes the Page tofeedandleadgenfor the Social CRM; a Page connected before those existed is reconnected to use them.
If something goes wrong
Owner does not administer the page
At step 4 the Owner has only editor or moderator access to a Page, not admin. That Page is not offered.
Page already connected
At step 5 the Page's id already has a ChannelConnection for this tenant. The flow resolves to reconnect/refresh that connection rather than creating a duplicate.
Good to know
- Only a Facebook Page can be connected for Messenger — there is no personal-account path.
- Only the Owner may start a new Messenger connection.
- Connecting a Page for Messenger does not connect any Instagram account linked to it — that is a separate FR-17 flow.
