Create a temporary identifier for an unidentified visitor

Before a visitor identifies themselves, the system still tracks them consistently by a stable, opaque, temporary identifier so their messages thread into one conversation.

When this happens: A new VisitorSession is created.

How it works

  • EasyCRM generates an opaque TemporaryVisitorId and a VisitorToken, and creates the VisitorSession.
  • EasyCRM creates a ContactChannelIdentity row (LiveChat, LiveChatVisitorId, TemporaryVisitorId, ).
  • EasyCRM returns the VisitorToken to the widget for storage in the browser.
  • Continues chatting; every message is attributed to this session until identification (UC-22.11/22.12) or expiry.

Good to know

  • The temporary identifier and its ContactChannelIdentity row are retained even after identification — never deleted, only superseded by a set Contact.
