Organize templates into categories

An Admin defines the categories the company's templates are grouped under, so the library and the shortcut picker can be browsed by topic.

When this happens: Admin opens /crm/reply-templates — Manage categories.

Step by step

  1. 1

Click Manage categories on the template library.

EasyCRM opens the existing predefined-list admin screen, scoped to system list ReplyTemplateCategory (FR-12).

  2. 2

Add options Pricing, Shipping, Returns and reorders them.

EasyCRM saves the list using the existing predefined-list mechanism; no reply-template-specific code runs.

  3. 3

Returns to the template editor; the new categories are available in the Category dropdown.

If something goes wrong

Category in use, deactivated

Deactivates a category option that templates still reference. The deactivation proceeds (FR-12 behavior); referencing templates keep their category label but the option no longer offers new assignments.

Good to know

  • Categories are a PredefinedList, not a dedicated entity — one taxonomy mechanism for the whole product. (FR-27-004, FR-12) |
  • A template's category is optional. |
  • Managing ReplyTemplateCategory requires EasyCrm.ReplyTemplates.ManageShared, letting a Supervisor with template rights manage categories without the general predefined-list permission. |
