Identify, disconnect or reconnect a telegram integration
An Admin recognizes a Telegram connection by its bot handle, disconnects it when it is no longer needed, and reconnects it after an interruption.
When this happens: Admin opens a Telegram connection's detail screen.
Step by step
- 1
Open Admin — Channels — *@sales_bot* and clicks Disconnect.
Asks for confirmation, explaining that conversation history is retained.
- 2
Confirm.
Calls Telegram
deleteWebhook(best-effort), sets the connection to *Disconnected*.
Other paths
Reconnect
On a *Disconnected* or *Error* connection, clicks Reconnect. Re-validates the stored token with getMe and re-registers the webhook; the connection returns to *Active* on success.
If something goes wrong
Provider revoke call fails
If Telegram's deleteWebhook call fails. The local disconnect still completes; the webhook is left registered on Telegram's side until the next reconnect or manual cleanup.
Good to know
- Disconnecting is always effective locally regardless of the provider's response.
- Renaming a connection never changes the bot's identity on Telegram.
