Send an approved whatsapp template when the channel rules require one
On an existing conversation whose 24-hour window has closed, an Operator sends an approved template to reach the customer again, since free-form replies are no longer accepted.
When this happens: Operator opens a conversation the composer shows as Window closed — send a template to continue.
Step by step
- 1
Open a conversation last active 3 days ago; the composer shows free-form controls disabled and Send Template highlighted.
- 2
Click Send Template, picks We're still here (Utility), fills its variables.
EasyCRM checks the template is
Approvedfor this connection, sends it, and creates the outboundMessage. EasyCRM marks the sendSending—Sentper UC-16.8.
Other paths
Selected template was paused since last sync
Rejects the send because the template is no longer approved (paused between the last sync and now). EasyCRM shows the provider's rejection reason inline; does not fall back to a free-form send. The Operator picks a different approved template.
If something goes wrong
Attempted free-form send bypassing the client guard
A free-form send request reaches the server for a conversation whose window is closed. Rejects with EasyCrm:Channel:WindowExpired regardless of what the client allowed.
Good to know
- Only
Approvedtemplates are selectable. - The server re-validates the window/template requirement independently of the client.
