Handle a failed email send and resend the message

A failed email send is shown clearly, with a precise reason, and the operator can resend without losing the original attempt.

When this happens: The provider rejects the send.

Step by step

  1. 1

Send a reply; System persists the Message with Sending and queues ChannelSendJob.

Rejects the send — the recipient mailbox is full. Sets Failed. And shows the failure inline with a Resend action.

  2. 2

    Waits and clicks Resend.

EasyCRM creates a new Message with RetryOfMessageId pointing at the failed one, and resubmits it through the outbound pipeline. The retry succeeds; Sent on the new message. The original failed message remains visible, unedited.

Other paths

Authentication failure

The failure is EasyCrm:Email:AuthenticationFailed (credentials expired between compose and send). Also moves the mailbox connection to RequiresReauth, not just this one message.

If something goes wrong

Resend fails again

The same failure recurs. The operator sees the same failure state and may resend again — no retry limit is imposed; each resend is an explicit human action.

Good to know

  • The failed message is never edited or deleted; a resend always creates a new message.
  • A failed send never counts as a valid response in KPIs.
