Connect a telegram integration

The Owner creates a bot through Telegram's @BotFather and connects it to the company by pasting its bot token, so customer messages to that bot appear in the shared Inbox.

When this happens: Owner opens Admin — Channels — Connect Telegram.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open Admin — Channels and clicks Connect Telegram.

EasyCRM shows the bot-token field with a link to the @BotFather instructions.

  2. 2

Pastes the bot token copied from @BotFather and clicks Connect.

Calls the Telegram Bot API getMe with the token to validate it and retrieve the bot's id, username and display name. EasyCRM creates the ChannelConnection, encrypts the token, and calls setWebhook with the connection's inbound URL and a generated secret. Sets the connection's state to *Active* and displays Connected as @sales_bot.

Other paths

Replace the bot token

On an existing connection, clicks Replace token and pastes a new one. Repeats steps 4–6 against the existing connection instead of creating a new one.

If something goes wrong

Invalid token

If getMe returns 401 Unauthorized. EasyCRM shows This bot token isn't valid — check it was copied in full from @BotFather Nothing is created.

Webhook registration fails

If setWebhook fails. The connection is created in state *Error* with Telegram's error message; the Owner can retry registration from the connection detail screen.

Good to know

  • A Telegram bot is authenticated with a bot token issued by @BotFather — there is no OAuth flow for this channel.
  • The bot token is never displayed again after it is saved.
  • Connecting is available only to holders of EasyCrm.Channels.Connect.
