Rename, reorder, enable or disable a conversation status

An Admin adjusts an existing status's name, color or position, or disables a custom status the company no longer uses. System statuses can be renamed and recolored but never disabled or deleted.

When this happens: Admin edits a status row or drags it within the Statuses tab.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open the Statuses tab, clicks a status row, edits its Name and Color.

EasyCRM checks the new name is unique. EasyCRM saves the change; if the status is a system status, its SystemKey is unchanged. EasyCRM records ConversationStatusConfigured (Update) with the field diff.

Other paths

Reorder by drag-and-drop

Drag Waiting for Customer above In Progress. EasyCRM sends the full ordered list of active status ids; on success, renumbers the display order for all of them.

Disable a custom status

Toggles Active off on a custom status that no conversation currently holds. Sets it inactive; it drops out of Change Status pickers and its per-status Inbox view.

If something goes wrong

Attempt to disable a system status

At , the target is New, Waiting for Customer, Follow-up, Resolved or Refused/Lost. Rejects with: New is a system status and cannot be disabled; nothing changes.

Reorder list mismatch

At , the submitted list omits or duplicates an active status id — for example, another Admin added a status mid-drag. Rejects the reorder; the Admin's view refreshes to the current order.

Good to know

  • System statuses can be renamed and recolored but never disabled or deleted.
  • Reorder requires the full ordered list of active status ids.
