Move an opportunity to another funnel

A user moves an open opportunity to another funnel, when it was placed in the wrong one or when the deal changes nature. The move is recorded so conversion reports count it as *moved out*, not lost.

When this happens: Actor clicks Move to funnel on the opportunity.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open the opportunity Hotel Codru — furniture, in Retail · Offer sent.

  2. 2

    Click Move to funnel.

EasyCRM shows a dialog: target funnel (the other active funnels), target stage (non-terminal stages of the chosen funnel) and an optional reason.

  3. 3

Select B2B Sales · Proposal and enters Became a hotel fit-out contract.

EasyCRM checks that the opportunity is open, the actor can edit it and the stage belongs to the funnel. Moves it and updates the probability to the stage default (asking first if the probability was overridden). EasyCRM closes the Retail visit as MovedToAnotherFunnel and opens a visit in B2B Sales · Proposal. EasyCRM records stage history with direction FunnelChange. Activity log: Moved from Retail · Offer sent to B2B Sales · Proposal Audit entry: OpportunityFunnelChanged. EasyCRM notifies the owner when the owner is not the actor. Both funnels' boards refresh.

Other paths

Sales rep moves to the first stage

If selects the target funnel's first stage. The move completes directly (steps 5 – 7).

Sales rep moves to a later stage (approval)

If selects a stage after the target funnel's first stage. EasyCRM shows: Moving into a later stage needs Sales Manager approval Creates an approval request as for a stage skip (UC-3.4 ). The opportunity stays where it is, with a *Pending Stage Approval* badge. Approve or rejects. On approval, steps 5 – 7 run. On rejection, the rep is notified with the reason.

Bulk move

Select opportunities in the list and chooses Move to funnel from the bulk actions. Moves each opportunity to the chosen funnel and stage, with its own history, audit and visit rows, and reports the result per row. Closed opportunities, opportunities the actor cannot edit and concurrency conflicts are reported as failures without stopping the batch.

If something goes wrong

Closed opportunity

The opportunity is Closed Won or Closed Lost. Move to funnel is disabled with the hint Reopen the opportunity first. A direct API call is rejected.

Concurrent modification

The opportunity changed since the dialog opened. EasyCRM shows: This opportunity was modified. Please refresh Nothing is moved.

Good to know

  • Only open opportunities change funnel.
  • A Sales Rep moves directly only into the target funnel's first stage; later stages need Sales Manager approval.
  • Quotes, activities and linked conversations stay attached.
  • The move counts as *moved out* of the source funnel in conversion reports, never as lost.
