Attach documents and files to an outgoing email

An operator attaches files to an outgoing email, validated against the sending mailbox's provider size limit and stored in object storage.

When this happens: Operator clicks Attach in the composer.

Step by step

  1. 1

Composing a reply, clicks Attach and selects a 2.1 MB PDF invoice.

EasyCRM checks the file against the sending mailbox's declared limit (*support@* is Gmail — 25 MB) and the platform's file-type policy. Uploads the file to object storage via IFileStorageProvider and shows it as a pending attachment.

  2. 2

Sends; the Message carries a MessageAttachment row.

Attachment would exceed the mailbox's limit

A second, 30 MB file would push the total over Gmail's 25 MB practical limit. Rejects the addition before upload, showing the limit and current running total.

If something goes wrong

Blocked file type

A .exe file is selected. Rejected by the existing upload policy, unchanged by this area.

Good to know

  • Size limits are declared per provider.
  • Attachments are retained in object storage for the conversation's lifetime. (ADR-016)
