Identify, disconnect or reconnect a connected facebook page
An Admin reviews a connected Page's identity, disconnects it, or reconnects it after it stops working, without losing conversation history.
When this happens: Admin opens a connection's detail in Channel Administration.
Step by step
- 1
Open
/admin/channels/messenger/{id}and reviews the Page's name, profile picture and who granted the current token. - 2
Click Disconnect and confirms.
Calls Meta's revocation endpoint (best-effort) and sets
Disconnected. Retains all conversations and messages on this connection, visible as read-only until reconnected.
Other paths
Reconnect
Click Reconnect on a Disconnected or RequiresReauth connection. Repeats UC-18.1's flow against the existing ChannelConnection.Id — any company admin with a Page admin role may complete it, not only the original Owner. Settings and history are preserved.
If something goes wrong
Provider revocation call fails
At step 3 Meta's revocation call fails. Local disconnect still completes; the provider-side grant may remain until removed from Facebook's own Business settings.
Good to know
- Disconnecting never deletes conversation or message history.
- Reconnecting reuses the existing connection identity and may be completed by any admin of the Page, not only the original Owner.
