Edit, deactivate or delete a template

An Admin (or a permitted Supervisor) maintains the company's shared templates — editing wording, retiring one without deleting it, or removing it outright.

When this happens: Actor opens a template from /crm/reply-templates and clicks Edit, Deactivate or Delete.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open the shared template Follow-up close and clicks Edit.

EasyCRM shows the editor pre-filled with the current values and the current RowVersion.

  2. 2

Changes the Body wording and clicks Save.

EasyCRM checks the RowVersion still matches, updates the template, and records ReplyTemplateUpdated.

Other paths

Deactivate

Click Deactivate instead. Sets . The template stops appearing in search and the shortcut picker immediately; conversations that already used it are unaffected. Its shortcut is freed for reuse. EasyCRM records ReplyTemplateDeactivated.

Delete

Click Delete and confirms. EasyCRM removes the template. Previously sent messages that used it are unchanged — the rendered text was already copied into the Message body at send time. EasyCRM records ReplyTemplateDeleted.

Supervisor edits a shared template

Performs the same Edit / Deactivate / Delete flow, available only when the Supervisor's role has been granted EasyCrm.ReplyTemplates.ManageShared.

If something goes wrong

Concurrent edit

At step 4 the stored RowVersion no longer matches (someone else saved first). EasyCRM returns EasyCrm:Concurrency:Conflict; the actor reloads and reapplies their change.

Insufficient permission

An Operator without .ManageShared opens a template. Edit, Deactivate and Delete are not offered; only Insert is.

Good to know

  • EasyCrm.ReplyTemplates.ManageShared gates every management action; the base permission alone grants no management capability. |
  • Deactivating never breaks a conversation that already used the template. |
