Restore owner access to a company
A company has lost Owner access — the Owner left, is locked out, or lost their MFA device and recovery codes. The Platform Operator designates another Admin as Owner or invites a new Owner, without ever signing in as a company user.
When this happens: Platform Operator opens the company in host administration — Restore Owner access.
Step by step
- 1
Open host administration — Companies — [Company] — Restore Owner access.
EasyCRM shows the current Owner, the company's active Admins (names only) and the two options.
- 2
Choose Designate an existing Admin, selects one, and enters the reason (incident reference).
Moves the Owner designation to the selected Admin; the previous Owner keeps their account and roles. Writes an
OwnershipRestoredentry into the company's audit trail, marked as a host action, with the reason. EasyCRM notifies all company Admins in-app and by email: [Name] is now the account Owner. Reason: [reason].
Other paths
Invite a new owner
At step 3 chooses Invite a new Owner and enters an email and the reason. EasyCRM creates an invitation carrying the Admin role and the Owner designation, and emails it. The designation moves when the invitation is redeemed (UC-1.11 ).
If something goes wrong
No other active admin
At step 3 the company has no other active Admin. EasyCRM shows EasyCrm:Platform:NoEligibleAdmin and offers instead.
Reason missing
At step 3 the reason is empty. The action is blocked until a reason is entered.
Good to know
- The Platform Operator never sees or sets a password and cannot sign in as a company user; there is no impersonation.
- The Platform Operator sees Admins' names only — no conversations, customer data or AI sources.
- Every restoration is recorded in the company's audit trail with the reason.
