Sell to an individual customer

A Sales Rep takes a private person (B2C) from lead to paid invoice with no company involved: the lead converts to a Contact and an individual opportunity, and the quote and invoice are billed to the Contact. Most of the company's customers buy this way. Added 2026-09-23 at the product owner's request.

When this happens: SR converts a qualified lead that has no company name, or creates an opportunity for a contact that has no company.

Step by step

  1. 1

Click Convert on the qualified lead Maria Ceban, which has no company name.

EasyCRM opens the conversion form. Section A (Company) defaults to *No Company (individual customer)*. Section B pre-fills a new Contact from the lead's name, email and phone. Section C pre-fills the opportunity with the chosen funnel's first stage.

  2. 2

Keeps *No Company* and clicks Convert.

EasyCRM checks that a Contact is given. EasyCRM creates the Contact without a company and the opportunity linked to the Contact only. EasyCRM archives the lead. Audit entries LeadConverted, ContactCreated, OpportunityCreated.

  3. 3

Create a quote on the opportunity.

EasyCRM creates the quote with the Contact as billed party and no company.

  4. 4

After the customer accepts, closes the opportunity as Won and converts the quote to an invoice.

EasyCRM creates the invoice without a company, billed to the Contact, and sends it to the Contact's email. The Contact's lifecycle stage becomes *Customer*.

Other paths

Create an individual opportunity directly

Click New Opportunity, selects the Contact Maria Ceban and leaves Company empty. Accepts it, because a Contact is given. Flow continues at step 5.

Manual invoice for an individual

Create an invoice without a quote, selects the Contact and leaves Company empty. EasyCRM creates the invoice billed to the Contact.

The customer turns out to buy for a company

Edit the opportunity and sets a Company. Accepts it when the Contact has no company or belongs to that company. Quotes and invoices created from then on carry the company. Existing ones are not changed.

Reporting

Groups a report or a list by Company. EasyCRM shows individual opportunities, quotes and invoices under *No company*.

If something goes wrong

Neither contact nor company

The opportunity or invoice has neither a Contact nor a Company. EasyCRM shows: Link the opportunity to a contact or a company Nothing is saved.

Contact belongs to another company

A Company is set and the Contact belongs to a different company. The existing mismatch error is shown.

Good to know

  • An opportunity or invoice needs a Contact, a Company, or both.
  • A lead without a company name converts as an individual by default.
  • Quotes and invoices of an individual opportunity are billed to the Contact.
  • All other rules — stages, approvals, closing, funnels, reports — apply to individual opportunities unchanged.
